Minimum: the least number of devices — 2×2 blocks, then fill remaining cols/rows with 1×n and n×1 strips.
Balance: similar number of outputs per device (no more than 1 output difference between devices).

Recommended: 5–10% (up to 25% for heavy web-page use).
The source model is most accurate (within ~1 stream) around 4K–1080p resolutions. Add more margin for higher/lower resolutions or heavy web-page content.
