Matrox Launches Two New High-Density SMPTE ST 2110 25 GbE Cards for COTS IP Solutions
Matrox DSX LE5 Q25 and Matrox DSX LE5 D25 SMPTE ST 2110 25 GbE NIC Cards Enable OEMs to Develop IP-Based, Multi-Channel 4K Broadcast Media Systems
The new Matrox DSX LE5 network adapters simplify the transition to SMPTE ST 2110 with IP-based, multi-channel video I/O support over 25 GbE.
MONTREAL, Quebec — March 27, 2019 — Matrox® Video today announces Matrox DSX LE5 Q25 and Matrox DSX LE5 D25, the newest additions to the Matrox SMPTE ST 2110 25 GbE network interface controller (NIC) card family. Based off the game-changing Matrox X.mio5 Q25 NIC card, these cost-effective SMPTE ST 2110 NIC cards simplify the transition from multi-channel SDI workflows to multi-channel IP workflows by delivering up to four 4K IP video inputs and outputs over 25 GbE networks. Broadcast OEMs can now choose from a variety of options to design the world’s most advanced 4K/HD-enabled broadcast graphics systems, channel-in-a-box systems, video servers, and other high-density, PC-based video equipment.
High-Density 4K/HD IP Video I/O
Featuring native SMPTE ST 2110 4K support, the Matrox DSX LE5 Q25 network adapter provides unprecedented multi-channel IP video I/O of up to four 4K/UHDp60, 16 1080p60, 32 HD, or any equivalent combination of flows over two 25 GbE links with SMPTE ST 2022-7 redundancy. The Matrox DSX LE5 D25 option meanwhile, receives and transmits two 4K/UHDp60, eight 1080p60, 16 HD, or any equivalent combination of flows over one 25 GbE link with the same SMPTE ST 2022-7 redundancy.
Optimizing SMPTE ST 2110 Environments
The Matrox DSX LE5 cards support SMPTE ST 2110-21, which guarantee narrow transmission with zero CPU usage for long-term on-air operation. Matrox DSX LE5 cards also offer hardware-based Precision Time Protocol (PTP) support allowing for clock accuracy in the nanosecond range, eliminating network jitter associated with general-purpose, non-video-aware NIC cards. In addition, with built-in support for NMOS Device Registration and Discovery (IS-04), NMOS Device Connection Management (IS-05), and the newly-defined JT-NM TR 1001-1 recommendation, the Matrox DSX LE5 cards provide seamless integration, communication, and interoperability in SMPTE ST 2110 environments.
Rapid Development
The Matrox DSX LE5 cards are supported by the robust, field-proven Matrox DSX SDK, which boasts an extensive set of powerful media processing modules ensuring rapid application and system deployment.
“The ever-expanding line of Matrox SMPTE ST 2110 NIC cards are providing various ways for broadcasters to effortlessly navigate the transition from SDI to SMPTE ST 2110,” says Alberto Cieri, senior director of sales and marketing, Matrox Video. “Leveraging COTS IT-based equipment for their affordability, flexibility, expandability, and ease of maintenance, Matrox-based SMPTE ST 2110 media systems deliver on deterministic, scalable, and repeatable multi-channel 4K and HD IP environments, all with guaranteed 24/7 reliability.”
