Matrox’s Latest SMPTE ST 2110 NIC Cards Successfully Complete JT-NM Testing Program
Matrox NIC Cards Pass Stringent Interoperability Testing Program for the ST 2110 Standard; Matrox X.mio5 Q25 NIC Card Also Part of a Plug-and-Play, Multi-Node ST 2110 Demo at the NAB 2019 IP Showcase
MONTREAL — 9 April 2019 — Matrox® Video today announces that its Matrox X.mio5 Q25, Matrox X.mio3 IP, and Matrox DSX LE5 Q25 SMPTE ST 2110 network interface controller (NIC) cards have successfully passed the Joint Task Force on Networked Media (JT-NM) testing program for the SMPTE ST 2110 standard.
The new JT-NM testing initiative is designed to provide full transparency and insight regarding key technology and vendor reference points to broadcasters evaluating and/or transitioning to IP-based infrastructures. As part of the inaugural testing program, each of the three Matrox NIC cards completed the ST 2110-20 video, ST 2110-30 audio, and ST 2110-40 ancillary tests; the Matrox X.mio3 IP card was also used as a reference device for the ST 2022-7 redundancy test.
Come see the Matrox X.mio5 Q25 NIC card in action in the NAB IP Showcase (booth #C12634) as part of a predictable, plug-and-play environment between various ST 2110 nodes, as designated by the newly defined JT-NM TR-1001-1 recommendation.
“Matrox is incredibly proud to be an ardent contributor and supporter of the SMPTE ST 2110 standard,” says Alberto Cieri, senior director of sales and marketing, Matrox Video. “The involvement of independent testing bodies like JT-NM represents an even deeper commitment to providing true open- standards-based approaches that ensure seamless, multi-vendor interoperability in SMPTE ST 2110 environments.”
Featured Matrox Cards in the JT-NM Tested Program
Matrox X.mio5 Q25 ST 2110 NIC Card with Hardware Processing

About the JT-NM Tested Program
Sponsored by the JT-NM and administered by the EBU and IRT—two top European technical bodies—the JT-NM Tested program offers prospective purchasers of IP based equipment greater, more documented insight into how vendor equipment aligns to the SMPTE ST 2110 and SMPTE ST 2059 standards. Vendors who submitted equipment to be tested and agreed to make their results public are listed, with their products’ test results in the JT-NM Tested catalog which is publicly available at the IP Showcase booth at NAB 2019 and at jt-nm.org/jt-nm_tested. This catalog provides transparency, describing the test criteria and testing methodology, as well as the hardware and software versions of the products that were tested. While JT-NM Tested is not a certification program, it will provide a snapshot in time of how vendor equipment aligns to key parts of SMPTE standards, providing prospective purchasers and users with a reference as they begin their equipment evaluation and qualification process.
