Matrox Video’s ConvertIP SRST wins Pro AV Best in Market 2023 award.

MONTREAL — Oct. 30, 2023 — Technology innovator Matrox® Video today announced that it has earned a Pro AV Best in Market 2023 award from AV Technology magazine for its Matrox ConvertIP SRST single-channel HDBaseT-to-IP gateway. Judges from AV Technology magazine praised the device for filling a gap in the market.

In a statement, the judges said, “So many users have adopted HDBaseT over the years, and now that IP is ready to take over, we’ve been lacking a tool such as the Matrox ConvertIP SRST transmitter/receiver. When you need to push the boundaries beyond the limitations of HDBaseT, Matrox provides a standards-based IPMX solution that allows users to reliably distribute signals further with confidence.”

Matrox ConvertIP SRST makes it easy to move HDBaseT content onto and off of an IP network. With this compact, stand-alone transmitter/receiver, users can scale up their existing HDBaseT network without the additional cost and hassle of upgrading current equipment or infrastructure. Rather than “rip and replace,” they can deploy the ConvertIP SRST to leverage a 1G network and transmit full-4K video at 60 fps over IP in near-real time or truly uncompressed content on networks up to 25G.

ConvertIP SRST gives users the flexibility to convert and move signals (compressed and uncompressed media) across and between networks as needed. With one SFP28 (10G or 25G) and one RJ45 (1G or 2.5G) port, the gateway can serve either as an encoder bringing HDBaseT signals from an HDBaseT switch to an IP network or as a decoder bringing IP signals (via IPMX) from an IP network to an HDBaseT island. Matrox ConvertIP SRST can also be used to air-gap different networks, using HDBaseT to couple IP networks over distance and without IP security threat.

ConvertIP SRST can achieve subframe latency when moving compressed media and zero latency when moving uncompressed media. IPMX-ready and compatible with SMPTE ST 2110, ConvertIP SRST works easily in pro AV environments. The bundled Colibri codec assures visually lossless transmission of compressed media over a 1G network, and an optional JPEG XS codec license enables SMPTE ST 2110-22 support (up to 2Gbps). A fanless design makes ConvertIP SRST quiet and ideal for a wide range of applications.

ConvertIP Series encoder/decoder devices enable interoperable, flexible, and scalable IP-based infrastructures delivering lossless, zero-latency 4K signals across 1, 10, and 25 GbE networks. These standards-based, fanless, PoE+, 24/7-reliable appliances make possible a new range of exceptional-quality, real-time to near-real-time AV-over-IP applications, including bridging HDBaseT to AV-over-IP networks. Matrox ConvertIP products have received JT-NM badges and are confirmed compatible with many SMPTE ST 2110 products offered by dozens of brands.
