M264 Series
High-Density, Ultra-Fast H.264 Encoding and Decoding
Matrox M264 family delivers unmatched performance for demanding broadcast production workflows, supporting up to 4 4Kp60 streams at 4:2:2 10-bit, 40 HD Long GOP streams at 4:2:2 10-bit, or 64 HD streams at 4:2:0 8-bit. With faster-than-real-time encoding and decoding, multiple streams can be transcoded simultaneously for distribution across diverse platforms, making the M264 an ideal solution for channel-in-a-box systems and video servers.
XAVC and AVC-Ultra codecs for UHD/4K
The M264 family of cards replaces CPU-heavy software processing with full hardware offload for real-time, multi-channel UHD/4K encoding and decoding. The M264 delivers reliable high-density performance ideal for video server and high-density media applications. Certified for Sony XAVC (including XAVC Intra Class 300/480, XAVC 4K Long GOP 4:2:2) and Panasonic AVC-Ultra, the M264 ensures compliance with industry specifications and seamless integration into professional production workflows.
Unified development with proven reliability
The M264 is fully supported within the unified Matrox DSX SDK for both SDI and ST 2110 environments, enabling seamless integration as a companion card or as a standalone solution. It can also be deployed alongside multiple cards within the same system to scale performance as needed. This unified approach simplifies development, allowing a single integration to extend across multiple products—reducing time-to-market and streamlining long-term maintenance.

1- M264 performance scales with resolutions and frame rates (within defined capabilities) and also supports working with mixed resolutions.
2- M264 S2, S3, and S4 provide two, three and four independent M264 instances, where each can be individually controlled to achieve 2x, 3x and 4x the performance respectively.
